Ignoring The Snow…..

Just when we thought that the light of Spring was saying a warm hello, with daffodils filling the house, lighter mornings, lighter evenings, bulbs springing up on window sills and in gardens of those organised types (obvs not mine I’m more of a threat than the coldest of cold when it comes to greenery) and most importantly those Spring dresses are being searched, considered and ‘hell yea’ bought….Then the Beast from the East arrives, throwing us a curve ball and completely confusing us to the ‘it’s March at the end of the week weather’ … And although the snow flurries and crisp blue skies are very pretty at times, I’m more relating it to a visit from the Wicked Witch of the West than Glinda the Good Witch.

I’m done with the cold spell and a hell of a cold spell at that, I’ve already moved on, so on that note I’m on the hunt for the dresses that shout out Spring, and happily found one in the beautiful Jamie Floral dress which I am currently floating around in, (albeit in my house with the radiator on full blast) which I purchased from ASOS, yes ASOS now stock Free People, Hurruh! I did buy in light of a wedding, however with a big trip to warmer climates in just over a month and the hottest Summer Britain has ever seen, (because the worse the Winter the warmer the Summer right?)   there are to be endless times that I will throw this dress on, for dinner alfresco on holiday, thrown over a bikini on the beach, Summer weddings, Summer parties you name it, the list goes on…..The dress feels really lightweight on and with a fun yet romantic throw back feel to the 70’s and bohemian Summers, with a split hem just high enough to flash the tan but enough to keep one’s modesty in check. Pastel pinks, oranges and creams pop out of the floral print, enough to remind us all what the warmer months are all about…..

…So for now I will be ignoring the snow and this freezing cold snap, I will not just save this dress for indoor activities, I’ll  be snapping back with a screw you attitude to dressing to the Beast from the East even if I am adding a polar neck jumper and some thick black tights……So  begone snow and minus temperatures, you are not welcome here, there are dresses to be worn.

I try to capture a moment albeit it grand or seemingly insignificant, so it can last just that little bit longer…
