A few weeks back a wrote a summer promises list, of all the things I wanted to try and achieve this Summer. Up there at the top was a day in London, strolling around, in and out of cafes and bars and just soaking up the city. Now I didn’t quite manage the cafes and bars earlier this week, as I was with my nearly three year old niece and my mum but a stroll around parts of the city was definitely achieved. The rest of the day was complete with old school fun and very quickly there was not just one child day tripping. Starting with sandwiches and strawberries in Kensington greenest Gardens, walks around the lake, watching the swans entwine, before heading to The Natural History Museum which was just as much fun as it was back in 1988. A wander round Harrods, the toy department for my niece, the Gucci bag department for me, (just looking obvs) to finish off with a huge Ice cream in the Ice Cream Parlour. All under the bluest of London skies, going old school, being a tourist and having lots and lots of fun…..So even though today I’ll be swapping one city for another, it was a pretty cool reminder that those precious Summer holiday memories can be made on home soil.
Some post cards of London in the sun.
