…..The last days of Summer are most definitely approaching, September has arrived, and although the sun is still shining there is a hint of autumn in the air, with some leaves already fallen and the the temperatures dropping……But woe, woe, woe if you don’t mind. Let’s just put the breaks on, just for a while. Aside from a glorious bank holiday weekend, August has been a little bit of a let down after the hot, hot Summer of June and well half of July. So, as ever I patiently await the forever welcome Indian Summer that September usually will bring, maybe I am in denial, but I am happy to bury my head in the sand for as long as I can, in order to prolong the lazy, sleepy, balmy Summer and most delicious days of the year….
….So along with a week in the South of France with my family to soak up as many rays as possible (to sit on the formally mentioned sand and bury ones head) and keeping everything crossed that the September sunshine stays for a while, here are a few things that are allowing me to draw out, soak up and indulge in The Last Days (well lets hope at least 30) Days of Summer…..
And Other Stories, Frill Bikini.
I am a huge fan of And Other Stories, and I am huge fan of bikinis, ‘put your hands together.’ It is almost unheard for me to have not purchased a few new ones for every beach trip….it’s an addiction I know! The great thing about going away this time of year is the Summer sales, but not just the Summer sales, the end of, let’s get rid of everything Summer sales. I picked up a pair of bikini bottoms for a whole £1 yesterday, nice one Topshop. However, seeing as this will most likely be my last ‘beach’ trip for a while I thought I’d treat myself to one more bikini. I love, love love the frill neckline of this triangle top, the style and the colour, and, well, nothing says Cote d’Azur like a navy and chic bikini.
Nothing says Indian Summer, than a white ruffle blouse, I think there is a running theme here. Still warm enough to throw on over sun kissed skin but paired with jeans just to keep you from going blue from the extra chill on the air. Ruffle sleeves, eyelet detail and lace too, need I say more…..
I used to wear anklets through out the Summer in my early twenties, but being the clumsy girl I am they didn’t really last long. Nice and grown up now, very grown up in fact I felt was ready to look after a ‘real’ anklet and could upgrade from my costume style I’d worn previously. Lucky for me Missoma in collaboration with blogger Lucy Williams, released these new pieces just in time for my birthday and viola, I was lucky enough to receive one. This 18 Carrot gold, mini fang ankle is so, so pretty, perfect for beaches and barefoot Summer days, I am even considering wearing it over my black tights when Autumn hits…….NO?
Probably the most indulgent and luxurious product I own. So before you fall off your chair, I don’t have a flash car, get my nails done regularly, eyebrows done, or anything done, have a gym membership (although I probably should), I don’t smoke and I have the cheapest Sky package going, so something I use daily is a bit high end…..so be it, right?!! (Justification)…Okay back to the area in mind….I never really wear lipstick, I sometimes might wear a gloss, but for the majority I am a stand up lip balm girl…and well this balm from Creme de la Mer, is the most loveliest of them all, all the science stuff aside of how good it is for the lips, healing, moisturising and soothing, it’s the mint slash white chocolate taste, ( yes I get you are not supposed to eat it) but you catch my drift…..A new Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring favourite for life!
So if you had read my blog post on Summer tick boxes the books already on my shelf to were near the top. Happily I say I have conquered and I now am ready to devour the next set of novels. Nothing says Summer Escape than switching off social media, ignoring emails and basically everything and anything than getting lost is as many books as possible…Easy for me to say I’ve a week away looming but if your holidays are over for the now, maybe keep this little Summer habit going and enjoy those Last Days of Summer
