An Ode to Corduroy

So do you remember the episode of Sex And The City, when Miranda told Steve he needed a posh suit for a work event of hers?

“Whats wrong with corduroy?” ” I don’t have enough time to tell you what’s wrong with corduroy!”

Well unlike Miranda I am a HUGE fan of the corduroy, whether that be  a mini skirt, a trouser, a jacket, you say it I’m up for it. However this time around the object in question is the sandy/ caramel kick flare trouser from Zara.  I have so many ticks for this new garment in my life, one, the colour, can you say more Autumn, than caramel coloured trousers, warm in colour and material and, well, you blend right in with the fauna on the ground.  Two, the mid waist is back.  I do love high waist but for some reason it can be not so flattering on me and make my short legs, look even shorter, so all hail the mid waist! Three, the skinny trouser with the flare kick , I have and always will love a skinny flare,  paired with boots and my camel coat well I happily feel I could walk on to set of Staying Alive, and fit in quite nicely.   I’m thinking a little cameo with Sylvester Stallone in the opening scene, New York City in my kick corduroy flares!  Born in the 70’s and happy to stay in the 70’s (well fashion wise that is).

So, I am sorry Miranda you were wrong about corduroy and  luckily I have enough time to tell you what is RIGHT with corduroy…….

I try to capture a moment albeit it grand or seemingly insignificant, so it can last just that little bit longer…
