Au Natural

A while back I posted all about Capturing those Summer moments, with going au natural as one of the ways to make you feel you are in a more relaxed, sunnier, holiday climate, I’m talking au natural in the no make up sense here, just to be clear. These little rituals I have tried to keep up, but bearing all (again, in a make up free face way) can be a slightly daunting thing and a little help has been required to give me that extra confidence to wipe off the slap, let the pores breathe, be fresh faced, and clean and show bare some skin. So already being half way into the Summer, with these go to natural, calming and magical potions, I feel ready to show my face and maybe a bit of leg, whether that be in the Med or in my local supermarket, these little gems guarantee that Summer ready feeling!

Bioderma Purifying Foam & Intensive Purifying Care

I feel that I have been a recent convert to the Bioderma products, and keep returning to their products over and over, but it is very hard not to when they are all so affordably good. My recent find is the Sebium Oily Skin purifying foam and Intensive Purifying Care, with the former used as a cleanser, completely wipes the day off your face, it deep cleans and removes the sebum. Here comes the science bit, Sebum is the oily secretion of the sebaceous glands, we got this! Now I’m pretty lucky with my skin, and do not have to worry too much with over excited sebaceous glands, but with the extra heat, sweat and dust than can latch onto your skin in the warmer months, I feel the need to reach for a more purifying cleanser. But as with all Bioderma products, this gel is gentle on application, is soap free and is kind to the eyes, is non drying, and smells really, really clean, clean! Additionally, it also limits the formation of blemishes making our foundation and concealer totally redundant, right? Working along side this is the Purfying Care which I apply after cleansing, great for eliminating spots and helps restore the skin and the clogging of pores, which is what us bare faced ladies require after all.

Cowshed Body Cream Knackered Cow

If you follow me on Instagram you will see I have a rather large love of a visit to the Cowshed Spas. Sadly this isn’t a habit I can commit to weekly, but thankfully the lotions, potions, oils and gels, can be a weekly, even daily part of my regime. Cowshed products are made using natural ingredients, contain no petrochemicals, no sulphates, no artificial fragrances or colours and most importantly they are never tested on animals. This Knackered Cow Body Lotion evokes all levels of Summer, with essential oils of lavender and eucalyptus, full of moisture, liberally apply and your skin will drink up the moisture, you slow down and unwind, super relaxing, and it’s as if you’ve fallen asleep in the lavender fields of Aix en Provence….

Avéna Thermal Spring Water Spray

Remember the hottest Summers growing up, sun beaming down, being hotter than hot from school sports and then makeshift water spritzers came out, ahhh lush! Well this is a slightly more refined and grown-up version of that, even the feeling of this spritz on your face is as refreshing as it used to be. The Avéna Thermal Spring Water is great to have when you are sunning yourself in the garden, after long, hot Summer walks, and for a refresh at work whether you are stuck in a hot office, stand on your feet all day, or jumping around a dance studio like me. It is not only cooling and refreshing but can soothe facial redness, skin irritation, and sunburn. It is fresh and natural and this little gem will definitely be making its way into my case for Portugal in a few weeks.

Elf Lip Exfoliator

Completely new to Elf products I wasn’t at all sure what to expect when I was sent the Elf Lip Exfoliator. I am slightly addicted to lip salve, cream, balm and feel uneasy if I don’t have one of the many on my person (not dramatic at all) but an lip exfoliator, well this was totally new to me. I really do struggle with dry, sore, chapped lips and I love how Elf has created this as a preformer to lip balm, it gently exfoliate lips to remove the dry, and chapped skin. Infused with Vitamin E and Shea Butter, Jojoba Oils to nourish and also protect, but wait my most favourite part is that it contains the magical powers of the ‘avocado’. The Sweet Cherry flavour is almost good enough to eat, and most importantly Elf products are 100% cruelty free. All HUGE ticks for me.
