Hybrid

January seems to be the hybrid month of the year, one part seems to hit the ground running, jumping straight back in, heavy workloads, lots of social events, new motivational plans, fitness plans, food plans, you name it bloody plan and all happening with the other part, just wanting to create a sleep plan, a lie dormant plan and make every day a Sunday kinda plan……A nod to the New Year and new things and then a quick goodbye to that and let me hide away…..The balance, I suppose is to go fly Monday to Friday but then really give yourself a good double dose of hibernation on the weekend,  close lock those doors, turn off your phone, whack up the heating, lie horizontally in as many places in the house as you can, and completing the idea, add a a book, Netflix, a movie, a hot chocolate; dive or should I say drift right in!  If the one part calls for an obscene amount of energy on every level, then part two can call for an obscene amount of sloth- like-ness….and well we want to do this properly, right?

A few little finds which are bringing a little bit of indulgence, warmth and good old ‘prettiness’ to the hibernation hybrid month.

Oysho Pyjamas, the softess, silkiest and yes spottiest pyjamas to date…..I love Oysho for their cotton ware and they do great bikinis (please roll on Summer) but I was new to their sleep range.  You can not get a more dreamy, satisfying feeling than a pair of new pyjamas and these tick that box. My favourite part is they button right up to the top, yep call me prudish but this is not the time of year to be flashing the skin, happily covered up like an old woman, but feeling ok about it because they are just so pretty.

Slippers and Jumpers and Books Oh My.…the biggest fluffiest jumper you can find, along with the book of choice ( I was supposed to be reading a book a month as a New Year thang….well enough said on that but the lazy ways can help with resolutions I say!) Paired up with probably the most warmest fluffiest slippers EVER! Yes I  have fallen head over heels, (literally) with the beauty of an Ugg Slipper… My sister has had various pairs and has been harping on about them for years and so I though okay let me see if they match these expectations?   I was lucky enough to receive a pair of these ‘heaven for your feet slippers’ for Christmas and YES she was right, they have barely left my feet and I’m currently etching a plan so I can wear them to work!

Lotions and Potions, Ok so we’ve cranked up the heating which is great for keeping us warm and snug but our skin is rapidly turning to scales.  These three pots of delight just add the hydration to feet, body and hands that the central heating, cold elements and basically Winter take away. Soothing and nourishing, all thick and creamy, apply liberally and the bonus is they all smell rather lush!

Pretty Little things….Okay so we don’t want to loose ourselves completely to the Winter and become just big ball of  laziness, we want to feel and look a little pretty while we are doing it…..So somewhere under all those layers is a flash of pretty, a flash of lace and a flash of Carrie Bradshaw, (she always managed to make the flash of lace or bra look lovely and not tarty at all) This beautiful and delicate lace set from Hush does the trick, it’s so comfy, soft and (stretchy ahem!)  and comes in a array of gentle colours, I’ve got Beryl Green but would love a set in all. And while it  maybe buried deep under 6 vests, thick pyjamas or  a thick woolly jumper, as long as you feel good wearing it even under a hundred layers that really is all that matters….

I try to capture a moment albeit it grand or seemingly insignificant, so it can last just that little bit longer…
