It’s Always Summer Somewhere with Sunkissed The Collective.

Ahh the start of the Summer, and today (as I write this), we really felt it,  this came with the biggest and most satisfying sigh! The warm sun beaming down, barely a cloud in the bluest of sky, cups of tea and slices of cake in the garden, the smell of cut grass, you could almost taste what is to come, hurrah! …And although still a little chill in the air, it really feels like there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Now, obviously being Brits we can never really rely or trust when these days will come again,  even in the height of summer, but you know what we all do so well? We get organised, we get excited and get super prepared, so when the warmer weather does visit, we embrace these pockets of glory and do Summer with bells on….Cue, summer dresses and summer skirts and all things sunshine!

I have been so excited to share my new favourite summer fashion find with you and have been waiting and willing the sun to come out to really bring these beautiful Australian pieces to England’s greenest hills.  I came across  Sun Kissed The Collective  scrolling through Instagram and pretty well became a slight stalker, coveting nearly all pieces in their collection.

Always been a huge fan of Australian fashion, those girls just get it so right, but with Sun Kissed The Collective there was just that little bit more  that pulled me in. A collection of carefully curated brands, all inspired by the sea, sand and sunshine with the real ethos being that your fashion choices are just an extension of who you are.  Full of wanderlust, bohemian and free, all things I can get on board with and I have to say at times I do find hard to get hold of in the UK without constantly just purchasing from high street stores and ending up at a party or a wedding in the same as someone else (we’ve all done that right?)

What I really love about the pieces are the beautiful cotton prints, as usual, but also the movement to the pieces, dresses that flow and move with you. I like that, I like that a lot and this is what mainly caught my eye, and of course that incredible Australian Landscape, which is not so easy to send recorded delivery. So you can imagine how delighted I was when Sarah the founder of The Sunkissed Collective said she was happy for a collaboration and not only that and a 15% off for my readers who fancy treating themselves for this summer.  Also pleasing to know that $1 from each sale goes towards your chosen choice of charity from which the company support, which is just quite brilliant!

So after pretty much wanting everything from the dresses, to white cotton tops, to the beautiful bikinis in the collection,  I chose the Rue Stiic Wilthsire Mini Wrap Skirt and and the black Delilah Frill Wrap Mini Dress …. But really for me the list was endless! Good Luck choosing!

I loved the skirt for the terracotta floral print, always a floral girl at heart, but this colour was really different and also gave it a less ‘girly look’.  Perfect for summer BBQ’s and time on the beach. What I also really liked was the versatilty of the skirt, great with T-shirts, Cami tops, you can dress it up and down.  Throw on a chunky knit and your boots and you have an autumn/winter outfit too.  I think clothes can became a little too throw away sometimes and I feel it is good to be a little considerate in choices and longevity,  so I was happy that I had so many options for when then seasons change (although we are NOT thinking of that now) I also really love the shape, it is flattering, really pretty and totally  reminds me of a Rachel Greene style skirt back in the late 90’s episodes of Friends…..Rightly or wrongly, but big tick from me!

The Delilah Frill wrap dress, which also comes in a Maxi length in a natural colour,  is another favourite,  the material and print is really beautiful, and just feels really elegant but with a slightly 70’s vibe.  Paired with flip flops at a summer party or even with boots for those early summer days.  I’ve already numerous places that I am planning to wear this dress and none of these places involve a passport!

Another personal highlight on this beautifully chosen collection is the variety of styles in the same print.  I hate how sometimes you can love a pattern or a print but the cut or style just does not suit you, the Sunkissed Collective have this covered by offering the terracotta floral print in a Kimono Style Dress, if you are not one for mini skirts. Additionally, the Deliah Wrap dress is also available in a Maxi Dress, and  in Boho blouse if dresses just aren’t your thing,   always thinking!  I’ve also got my eye on this Blush Willow Day Dress and this crisp White Roberton top for those summer fun, filled days.

So right now as we stand at the beginning of May, we can be hopeful and we can be positive and we can be prepared for the glorious British Summer ahead…..and well if the rain does pour it down all the way through August, so be it, because it will be summer in our wardrobe and well it is always Summer somewhere ….

I try to capture a moment albeit it grand or seemingly insignificant, so it can last just that little bit longer…
