American Beauty

I am pretty good when it comes to a beauty routine at home, well any routine to that matter but when it comes to holidays most of those routines can fly straight out the window quicker than my Virgin Atlantic flight take off.  But with some help from a few  products, some new and some old faithfuls, the beauty routine side to life managed to bury themselves in my suitcase…..So here are a few holiday essentials I swear by, whether that be Under the Tuscan Sun, a Greek Island hideaway or a trip across the atlantic for some American Beauty.

Liz Earle Holiday Minis

Never one to damp down my love for the Liz Earle products, I have been using it for years now and is still the only product I find can really clean up my skin.  So I was pretty happy to be given a mini travel pack at a Liz Earle event I went to a few months before my trip, perfect timing! A mini cleanse and polish, toner, moisturiser and Eye Bright Soothing Eye Lotion,  which is massively required when dealing with jet lag.  Five minutes with this on your eyes, plane trip, what plane trip? The mini travel pack is the best way to get your holiday dosage of all the gentle lovelies, chamomile , beeswax, rosemary, eucalyptus oil, cocoa butter, without giving up too much room for clothes.

This product has probably been my favourite on my travels.  Not the type to even really want to wear make up on holiday, but with the sun being so strong a 50 +screen is required and this tinted aqua fluid does just the job. With all its protections brings a glow to the skin and hides those perhaps too many Margaritas, added bonus!  On a side note I have continued to use this protection under the pretty impressive British sun we have been having of late, adding a little more glow and summer holiday feel to the everyday now I’m back home for a while.

Body Shop Shea Butter

I’ve taken the Body Shop’s butters away for years.  For me they are holiday in a pot. Thick and creamy and perfect after a day in the sun, sea and sand, the moisturiser is definitely required.

NOUNOU

I was pretty happy to find a mini pots of this magical deep conditioner.   This miraculous hair saviour does not come cheap, so I wasn’t really wanting to risk taking a full size one, having it leak or loose it  (typical things that happen to me).  Luckily the mini pot was just enough for our 2 week trip, with the intense sun, sea, hairband damage I put my hair through on holiday, gives my sun damage locks the hydration it needs.  A little tip put it on in the morning for at day at the beach and leave it on all day to do its magic.

Jessica Nail Varnish

I find nail varnish a bit of a tricky one, I tend to stick to coral, red, or black cherry but sometimes I feel they can be a bit glossed up, introducing ….from Jessica and in mini holiday size too.  Perfect for the holiday dreamer that can’t make up her mind, a mix between coral and red, calm and  not too glossy, a little different for once, and feels a little 1970’s which is always a bonus for me.

I try to capture a moment albeit it grand or seemingly insignificant, so it can last just that little bit longer…
